Sharpsburg Elementary would like to celebrate 5th grader Liahna Humphrey as April’s Rising Star. Liahna is a role model for other students. She is always following directions, completing assignments to the best of her ability, and has been volunteering and participating in class.
The end of the school year is a period marked by a flurry of activities and testing, bringing a mix of anticipation and anxiety for students and educators alike. As State Testing and the end of the school year loom, both teachers and students ramp up their efforts, making the most of the remaining time to ensure the year ends on a high note.
Testing, in particular, becomes a focal point. Standardized tests, classroom assessments, and project deadlines create a challenging environment where time management, study skills, and stress management become crucial. Educators play a significant role in preparing their students, offering review sessions and moral support.
Sharpsburg Elementary would like to announce Josie Montgomery as a rising star. Josie is a fourth-grade student at Sharpsburg Elementary. Josie is an exceptional young lady in and out of the classroom. Josie always puts her academics first. She looks for opportunities to improve and deepen her understanding of concepts. She is an extremely hard worker with an exceptionally strong work ethic.
Sharpsburg Elementary would like to recognize 5th grade student Lucy Coronado Velasquez. Lucy exemplifies what “You, Me, We Belong at Sharpsburg '' means on a daily basis. Lucy is a great PAX leader--always willing to help her classmates and teachers out.
Sharpsburg Elementary’s January Rising Star is 4th grader Lilly Avila. Lilly is one of the hardest working students the fourth grade teachers at Sharpsburg Elementary have ever had the pleasure of teaching. Lilly comes to school every day with a positive and ready to work attitude. She is always ready to tackle any task placed before her with a smile on her face. Her hard work ethic, focus, and attention to detail are truly impressive
Due to his bravery and concern for a peer, we would like to nominate first grader, Quentin White, as our Sharpsburg Rising Star. On December 5th while the students were enjoying their lunches, Quentin noticed that a peer was choking. He quickly took action and notified the adult educational aide who was supervising the children. Quentin urgently communicated the emergency.
